This time of year can be tricky because everything tells us we should be posting Christmas content. And we can! We can absolutely post whatever we like for our small business Instagram. But a big part of how to get more followers and how to grow on Instagram is learning how to stand out, and how to build connections. Because, and say it with me, you’ve heard me say this a million times! People buy from people!! But Suze I buy Adidas sneakers and I don’t know the person who owns Adidas. Okay. And that’s why they hire famous sporting celebrities. Because people buy from people! Use these content suggestion to share a bit about you and your business. Share the lows as well as the highs. People are feeling cosy and festive at this time of year. They’ll “ahhh” at everything you have to say! So some hooks: “My 2025 predictions that were 100% wrong!” This is intriguing, what happened…. People want to find out. “Things I will not be taking from 2025 into 2026.” Same vibe as above. “The number 1 thing that altered my business this year!” Intrigue! What was it?! “Who else did this in 2025?” Ooo did what?! Us humans, we are curious (nosey!) beings! Hooks like this give people a reason to watch and follow for more! And so much of the so called advice I see when people ask: how do I get more followers on Instagram, seems to involve post more Reels, add trending audio, stand on one leg for 5 minutes after you’ve posted it… 🙄 But there’s a much easier way to get followers on Instagram. In fact there are two: The first is proactive engagement. That doesn’t mean random doom scrolling till midnight!! 🤪 That means targeted engagement with accounts where your potentially ideal followers are already hanging out. And the second way?
