DO NOT use trending audio just because it’s trending. ❌

Especially if you’re a small business owner.

Here’s the thing: all the insta gurus will say: shoot B roll, add a hook and some trending audio, and you’ve made your content! Done.

But creating content that turns in customers doesn’t work like that. Remember as small biz owners we want to be Insta paid not Insta famous!

Try it if you’re a:

Boutique Hotel or holiday cottage: take us from arrival to that room/view/bath
Travel business: take us somewhere we immediately want to be: the beach the sea…
Restaurant or café: outside → inside → table → food / cocktails / the bar tender pushing the drink towards you on the bar
Estate agent: walking to the room that sells the house
Florist/wedding business: walking towards the the display or down the aisle
Interior or garden designer: the big reveal

The trick?

Don’t copy the travel creators. Copy the structure.

Movement.
Anticipation.
Then the payoff.

And if you can’t think of a natural way your business fits this audio?

Skip it.

You do not need to jump on every trend to grow on Instagram.

Share slide 2 in your stories. Remind people that they don’t have to buy from you today (though let’s honest here my friend, sales are important too am I right?!), but they can support you in a number of other ways!

From word of mouth, to leaving you a business review on google or on your website… it’s all marketing. It all helps. And it costs people nothing. Save for a few minutes of their time.
