Making content needn’t be hard!

Here’s what you’re gonna do 👇🏽

First don’t forget to follow @tcbsocialmedia to have me, Suze, as your insta coach in your pocket!

Now! Pick a spot at home with some decent daylight. It’s flattering and your phone will record better quality footage in decent light.

Prop it up somewhere. On a stack of books, against a coffee cup… no fancy tripod needed. If you have one great, if you don’t no worries. My phone was leaning against the window in this cinematically filmed Reel!

Hit record, and film yourself. Something that you do as part of your business:

Typing.
Writing.
Packing orders.
Breathing.
Thinking.
Drinking coffee.

Anything.

Now try this for a hook on screen

This is your sign to plan a ____ with / for your ____

Are you a hotel? Holiday cottage? Glamping site? Plan a weekend away with your other half.

Are you a bar? Restaurant? Club? Comedy venue? Plan a night of fun with your best friend.

Are you a service provider? Yoga teach? Therapist? Manicurist? Healer? Plan to make some time for yourself to relax / breathe / rest…

I used the audio on my camera for this as I quite liked the sounds, but you can pop over your favourite track or some trending audio.

I see a lot of coaches suggesting you shoot B Roll to make Reels. Which I am totally in agreement with!

B Roll + a great hook = a good Reel!

And they list all the great things you can film: working at your desk, opening your laptop etc…

But what if you’re a small business owner and don’t have a nice office or desk that you can film in?

I don’t. So I film my walks. And these shoes were just too cute not to film! ☺️

Obviously it’s a lot colder today! I filmed this last year. But imagine how beautiful this would look filmed on a frosty morning. Sunlight glistening on the cold frozen ground. You could even use the audio from the camera; the crunch crunch crunch as you step on the tiny icicles! 👌🏽

Now then! You need a good hook. You need a great hook actually. You really need to grab people’s attention, and fast on this app.

And you take your great hook and you apply it to the needs of your ideal follower. The needs that you and your gorgeous small business can help with.

Try this one

POV: you’re X and Y and then you find my account.

X is your ideal follower but make it descriptive eg you’re one hot mess tired toddler mama who just can’t drink any more oat milk lattes today to stay awake…

Y is their pain point eg, and you need to find a way of helping your LD through this sleep regression and back to slumber land, before you make the mistake of reaching for the nappy cream instead of your toothpaste…

Be super specific! And then your caption paints a picture of how you can help eg I see you mama and I got you. We can sort those sleep issues in just a few sessions I promise. Etc etc…

And your Call To Action at the end of your caption: DM me and let’s get this baba to sleep again!

Be specific, paint a picture, show them how you can help.

And today @mosseri has said that if people share your content (in truth he said ‘send your content via DM etc’ but y’know, potato potarto…) the old Algo picks this up…

And in the long run, it will help your Reach.

And Reach my friend, is what we need to grow.

So, how can you use this advice to grow YOUR account?

Think about the kind of things that you send to your friends or small business besties. It’s likely to be something that really made you laugh, or resonated or touched you in some way. Or something that was really educational or of value.

Ask yourself: how can I apply that to my small business?

Let’s say you’re a baby sleep consultant, you might make a post that says: if you’re tired of being woken up 6 times a night by baba and there just isn’t enough coffee to get you through the day, think about trying this…

Where ‘this’ is a valuable tip to help that tired sleep deprived mama 😴

Another parent seeing this post who has been there fatigued and feeding a baby at 2am is gonna share that post with another parent friend…

Shareable / sendable content. Focus on that. And @mosseri (and me!) says it will help your reach.
